Accessible Craigleith
As part of our “Community of Family and Friends” culture at Craigleith, we would like to ensure that everyone enjoys the opportunity to discover the wonders of the sport of skiing.

Our Base Lodge is designed to allow someone with mobility issues to make a smooth transition from their vehicle to the ski hill.

Reserved parking spots for those with designated handicapped access are located at the first space of each parking row (8 spaces in total).

Directly inside our front doors is a large Front Desk, with any of the information you may need to start your day off right, as well as an area to purchase tickets and book a lesson (based on instructor availability – please see lesson section below).

Access to the main floor (cafeteria level) is available through the use of our elevator, located just inside the locker room.

Wheelchair accessible washrooms are available in the main men’s and women’s washrooms in the Base Lodge.

The South Lodge offers limited wheelchair access via elevator from the basement.  Access is limited to the ground floor and main (cafeteria) floor.  There is no wheelchair access to the Loft. 


Lift Tickets and Guest Reservations
All guests are required to be signed in by a Craigleith Ski Club member and have an advance guest reservation.  We are not able to accept “drop in” guests or sell tickets to anyone without an advance reservation from a member.  Regular guest fees are applicable to all guests including skiers with a disability. However, an accompanying support person is able to receive a complimentary lift ticket.  Please see notes below regarding Support Persons requirements.


Support Persons
If you require the aid of a Support person, in order to achieve your goal of being on hill for the day, we allow them to accompany you on hill to help make this a reality. They will receive a complimentary lift ticket for the day, but will be required to pay for any other goods or services that they may require. They will need to attend the Front Desk / Ticket Desk with you in order to receive their lift ticket, and will also require an advance guest reservation.

 

 

Assistive Devices / Access to Ski Lifts
For general day to day life around the Club, Craigleith allows all personal assistive devices to allow you full use of the amenities that we have to offer. With regards to the use of the Ski Lifts, any assistive devices used must be proper ski/snowboard assistive devices such as a “sit ski” or “outriggers”. For more information, please contact us before your arrival to ensure that your device will be allowed on our Lifts.


Special Lift Line Priority
If you have a disability that affects your ability to stand in the lift line, please visit our Front Desk staff and speak to a representative for more information.

 

 

Service Animals
Should you require the use of a Service Animal to assist you in your day at Craigleith, we are prepared to welcome them on property as well. As you are probably aware, we ask that service animals be kept away from food areas where they are not permitted by law for health reasons. We will assist you in finding a suitable area to enjoy our Base Lodge amenities that is of the most comfort for your party.  Please check in with the Front Desk to give our staff a chance to meet you both. We ask that you explain to our staff what might be required throughout the day so that we can be prepared to help make your day the best it can be. Please note that Service Animals are NOT allowed access to our chairlifts for safety reasons. For more information contact us prior to your arrival.


 

Ski Lessons
Please contact our Snow School department for information on private lessons prior to your arrival date at the Club.  Our staff will do their best to accommodate lesson requests for people with disabilities however advance notice (approximately one week) is required in order to arrange for an instructor and/or equipment.  Inquiries should be made to Snow School Administrator Laurel Armstrong,

Craigleith Ski Club is one of the locations where the Ontario Track 3 Ski Association provides their program.  They are very versed in assisting children with disabilities learn to ski. They can be contacted directly through their website at

Service Disruptions
Should any of our amenities become disrupted throughout the day, we will post notices on our Website and at the location that is affected to let you know where your alternative location can be found. It may be a washroom, elevator, or area designed to accommodate your service animal. If possible, we will let you know personally what has happened and how to adjust your day to the alternative plan.

While here you can pick up a comment card at our Front Desk and leave your comments in our drop box.
