The Craigleith Ski Club Summer Club Tennis Section will be in full swing again this summer. Craigleith Ski Club members are automatically eligible to get in on some great summer fun! A limited number of Annual Memberships are also available to non Ski Club members.

We have four excellent Har-Tru courts, located in a beautifully maintained, scenic environment at the base of the V-Hill chair. Our Summer Club Manager and certified Tennis Pro, Margot Allan, offers doubles, singles and Junior tennis instruction. She also ensures the facilities are in top shape and events are running smoothly. We have an on-site B.B.Q., picnic facilities and a children’s play area. In conjunction with the Orchard development, future plans include a swimming pool and club house.

Tennis Section Fees for Summer 2010
Tennis membership is on an individual basis and covers play on the courts through the scheduled operating season, from the 15th of May through to Monday, October 11th, Thanksgiving weekend.

Tennis Section Registration Fees are Due May 15, 2010.
Age is calculated as of December 31st, 2010.

Please note: participation by Craigleith Ski Club members in the Tennis Section is open to either the “First” or “Second” Ski Club member, and / or children.

Meet Our Summer Club Manager and
Head Tennis Pro Margot Allan 
 

Margot Allan, Tennis Canada Certified Level 2 Coach, has been coaching for 30 years.  Over the years, she has been a traveling coach with the Ontario Tennis Association and has been involved with high performance junior athletes.  As the Team Manager/ Assistant Coach for the Ontario Tennis Team at the 2001 Canada Games, her team won Gold!  Before becoming a Tennis Professional, Margot competed and trained at an elite level in Ontario and was recruited to the U.S. where she played scholarship tennis for her College, Margot then competed at the Nationals and was ranked in the Top 32 in the U.S. her final year.

Margot has been living, working and playing in the Blue Mountains for 10 years actively coaching tennis at several locations in the Georgian Triangle area.  This year Margot will be the Manager and Head Tennis Professional at Craigleith Tennis Club.  Margot welcomes your questions and membership inquiries, and can be contacted at the Club (705) 444-9217 on her cell (705) 443-9911  or contact Laurel Armstrong at (705) 445-3847 ext 235 or Toronto Direct (416) 690-7000 or via email to summerclub@craigleith.com.

Booking Courts
Memebers can book court time by telephone or online (coming soon).  Courts may be reserved one week in advance.  Members should check the posted schedules as some courts are reserved for House Leagues, Lessons and Social events.
Reservations may be made by calling Summer Club Manager Margot Allan at (705) 444-9217.  Please provide the names of all members and guests who will be playing.

Social Mixed Doubles, Competitive Mixed Doubles, Competitive Men's Doubles and Men's and Ladies' Doubles House Leagues
What a great way to get out and play tennis, meet friends both new and old, and engage is some friendly competition! All levels of player are welcome and encouraged. House League participants play in a doubles format with points awarded for both results and attendance. Men's Competitive Doubles are played every Saturday morning from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.  Social Mixed Doubles games are played every Sunday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Competitive Mixed Doubles games are played every Monday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Ladies’ Doubles are played every Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Men's Doubles are played every Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Schedule to be confirmed.

Junior Lessons
Junior Lessons will be offered every Saturday from 10 a.m. till 12 p.m. starting July 3 through till August 29.  Children ages 7 - 9 lessons will commence at 10 a.m. and for children ages 10 & up will start at 11 a.m.  We will also have 2 weeks of Junior camps one in July and one in August.  Click here for more information.

Private Lessons

Summer Club manager and Tennis Pro Margot Allan offers private and semi-private lessons, drill clinics, camps and more!  Giving participants an opportunity to improve their overall skill level. Call Margot directly or check our website for info on times and rates.

Tennis Weekend - May 29 - 30, 2010
This adult event focuses on fine tuning your skills for the season.  Weekend course includes 6 hours of instruction with certified instructors.

 Tournaments and Round Robins
All Tennis section members are encouraged to participate in the Championship Tournaments that are held in July and August. Featured are Men’s and Ladies’ Singles, Men’s and Ladies’ Doubles and Mixed Doubles. There are two levels of competition, plus over 65, organized at each tournament. Champions and runners-up will receive medals at the Awards banquet in September.
Round robin tournaments are also scheduled throughout the tennis season, and will be open to all members. Don't forget to sign up early for the Hopman Cup.

Guest Privileges
Your guests are welcome to enjoy our beautiful facilities and it's a perfect way to introduce potential new members to our Tennis section! Guest passes cost $15.00 per day per adult and $10.00 per day per junior all billable to the account of the member who signs in a guest upon their arrival at the courts.

Individual guests must play with a Member and are restricted to 5 visits per year. Appropriate tennis attire is required and proper tennis footwear suitable for clay court surfaces must be worn.

Tennis Section Committee
As with other areas of the Ski Club, the Tennis Section is represented by a dedicated group of Committee members who assist the Summer Club Manager, and Craigleith Ski Club’s Board of Directors and General Manager, to ensure its successful operation. Annual members are invited to sit on this committee. Member feedback is welcome and valuable, as we work towards building a thriving Tennis Section that enhances the membership experience of our Club.
